Getting to the Start

To get comfortably to the start you are advised to take public transport. The trains from Munich, Vienna and other big cities in Austria go regularly even on sundays. Just have a look at the timetables of Österreichische Bundesbahnen, Westbahn and Deutsche Bahn. In Salzburg, the best solution is to go by bus.

Going by bus

From the northern city area or the main train station you take the Obus lines 3, 5, 6 or 7 to the station Rathausplatz. From there you have only a few minutes to walk to the Universitätsplatz entering the historic center of Salzburg.

From the southern city area the Obus lines 3 (Alpenstraße), 5 (Morzg), 6 (Parsch), 7 (Aigen) and 8 (Salzburg Süd) go to city centre. Get off at the stop Theatergasse. Cross the Salzach River by the Makartsteg and enter the historic center of Salzburg.
